Why we exist

The most valuable work in medicine and law runs on scarce expertise. A prior authorization, a time-critical surgical decision, a debt restructuring: each one spans dense documents, a tangle of systems, and an expert's sign-off.

Today's AI drafts and suggests. A person still has to finish the job: work the portals, reconcile the numbers, check everything, get the approval. That last mile is where the hours and the revenue are lost. It's the part we take on.

A model supplies intelligence. A harness turns it into finished work.

A harness is an agent system built for one expert job, end to end. It holds the case until the work is done, works the same portals and records the expert would, checks its own work against the expert's standard, and stops for a person wherever judgment or sign-off belongs. Every step lands in one audit trail.

We believe the next great software companies will sell finished work, not tools. The harness is how.

How it started

Agentman began in 2024 as a platform for building agents. It found its shape inside Valley Diabetes & Obesity, an independent practice in Modesto, California, run by Sachin Gangupantula. Eligibility verification that took his staff hours every day became a short daily review. Then Sachin asked the question that turned a product into a company:

“Why should my practice be the only one that has this?”

He joined us full-time, and his question became our method.

    A leading expert brings us their hardest workflow and funds or hosts the build.

  2. Prove.

    We go live inside their operation and measure the result.

  3. Sell.

    We take the product to their peers. We keep the IP; partners share in the royalties.

We take on only work with outsized outcomes: multiples in revenue or capacity, or work where the stakes are a patient's life.

Why it compounds

Every product runs on one shared harness: agents, skills, connectors, case memory, evaluations, and human approvals. New capabilities are born inside a product and move into the shared harness once proven. What one product learns, the others inherit, so each new product costs less to build than the last, while licenses and usage recur.

We don't build on speculation. A capability starts inside a product because real work demands it. Agents that work payer portals with no API began in Medman. So did the inbox that takes in email, voicemail and fax. Document work that runs for hours began in the legal harness.

Phoneman, our receptionist for practice phone lines, is the proof: it was assembled almost entirely from parts the other products had already built. We are our own first, hardest customer.

We own everything above the model. That keeps margins in our hands and lets us move work to whichever model passes our checks at the lowest cost.

    With a leading U.S. health system

    Patients who qualify for time-critical procedures miss the window when the evidence is scattered. The harness gathers it across registries and records, applies the program’s protocols, and gives clinicians an audited recommendation. Clinicians make every decision. Feasibility is complete; field testing begins January 2027.

What is an agentic harness?

An agent system built for one expert job, end to end. It holds the case, works the tools and records, checks its own work, and stops for a person where judgment or sign-off belongs.

Isn't co-creating with partners a services business?

Partner builds are how a product starts, not what we sell. The partner funds or hosts the first build; we keep the IP and license the product to their peers, and the partner shares in the royalties. Each build also strengthens the shared harness every product runs on.

Why healthcare and law?

Both run on scarce, expensive expertise. Both require an audit trail and a human sign-off. In both, the value sits in the gap between an AI draft and an approved result. One harness and one method serve both.

Which AI models do you use?

We own everything above the model, so we aren't tied to one model lab. Work can move to whichever model passes our checks at the lowest cost.
