Restore an earlier version of a skill
Availability: All plans. Requires edit access to the skill.
If an edit took a skill in the wrong direction, you can bring back any earlier version in two clicks. Restore is non-destructive: it never deletes or overwrites anything.
Restore a version
- Open the skill and click Version History.
- Select the version you want back — compare it against the current one first if you want to see exactly what you're reverting.
- Click Restore this version and confirm.
What restoring actually does
Restoring creates a new version that copies the selected version's content and its attached files. The version you restored from stays in history, the versions after it stay in history, and the new version is automatically annotated "Restored from vN" — so the rollback itself is part of the record.
Because nothing is overwritten, restoring is safe to do even when you're not sure: if the restore was wrong, restore again.
Making the restored version live
Restoring brings the content back into your working draft. If the skill is published, your agents and AI tools keep using the published version until you publish the restored one — so you can review the resurrected content before it goes live.
