Search recording transcripts, cut and restyle edits, and publish clips to seven social platforms from an AI agent. Anthropic lists 59 tools; Riverside's own repo lists 61. OAuth sign-in, no scopes, and one irreversible publish tool.

Verified connector

Listed by Anthropic as a partner connector in its Connectors Directory.

Connection checked by Agentman on .

Anthropic states this reflects the level of review a connector received, not a security audit.

Connect Riverside via MCP

Works in any MCP-compatible client. In Agentman Studio it is one click — no config file to edit.

Limits

  • No OAuth scopes exist at all. Neither Riverside's RFC 9728 resource descriptor nor its authorization server metadata declares scopes_supported, checked live on 2026-08-22. There is no boundary between the routine write and the irreversible one: the same grant that reads a transcript publishes to TikTok. A user who wants search without publishing has no way to ask for it.
  • Publishing cannot be undone from the chat. Riverside states it plainly, and there is no idempotency key, so an ambiguous outcome cannot be safely retried. Review before you post.
  • Not every edit change has a one-click undo. Riverside's own words. editing_clone_edit before a risky change is the documented mitigation, and Riverside says agents are guided to clone first.
  • Recording, session scheduling, podcast hosting and motion graphics are out of scope. Riverside names all four as staying in the product. The connector works on content already recorded.
  • Connections expire every 7 days with no silent refresh, and revoking an issued token early requires contacting support rather than a self-service control.
  • We could not read tool schemas or safety annotations. The endpoint returned 401 to an anonymous request, so no parameter-level detail is published here beyond what Riverside's skill files name.
  • editing_batch's operation set is not published. Riverside directs agents to fetch the catalogue from editing_get_editing_guide at runtime. The write surface is therefore larger than 59 tool names suggest, by an amount nobody outside an authenticated session can state.
  • The vendor's tool snapshot is dated and says so. expected-tools.txt was captured 2026-08-09 with a name-level correction on 2026-08-13, and Riverside notes it "can go stale". No live handshake reconciled it.
  • ChatGPT personal plans are read-only. Riverside states personal ChatGPT plans support only read-only tasks like browsing content and transcripts; editing and posting need Business or Enterprise. MCP apps do not work in the ChatGPT mobile app.
  • Two documented plan statements disagree in the edges. The marketing page says "Grow plan and above"; the support article names Grow, Webinar and Business specifically; the plugin repository says only that Free and Pro are excluded. Check your own plan against the support article.
  • riverside.com/mcp is a stale waitlist page. It still says "MCP coming soon" and offers a waiting list, on a live URL in Riverside's own sitemap, months after the connector shipped. The current page is riverside.com/new/mcp-early-access.

Frequently asked questions

Yes, and it cannot take the post back. One tool, social_upload_create, publishes or schedules a clip to YouTube, YouTube Shorts, TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn or X. Riverside's own skill file calls it destructive and open-world and states this MCP has no cancel, edit, delete, undo or unpublish operation. Confirm before every call.

No. No tool among the 59 carries a delete verb, and Riverside states the MCP cannot delete recordings, projects, uploaded media or entire edits. What it can change is edits — cutting, muting, reordering and restyling. Riverside adds an honest caveat that not every change has a one-click undo yet.

No. Riverside's support article states plainly that using the Riverside MCP does not affect your Riverside AI credits. That matters because the connector reaches AI features that are metered in the editor, including Magic Audio, smart layouts and filler-word removal. Credits are bought separately from a subscription and do not renew monthly.

None. Riverside's RFC 9728 resource descriptor omits scopes_supported entirely, and its authorization server metadata omits it too, checked live on 2026-08-22. There is no scope that separates reading a transcript from publishing a clip, so consent is all-or-nothing across all 59 tools.

Grow, Webinar or Business. Riverside's support article names those three plans and restricts the feature to account owners, admins, directors and editors. Riverside's plugin repository states Free and Pro accounts are not admitted and their tool calls will not authorize. The feature is in beta and rolling out gradually.

Seven days. Riverside's plugin repository states a connection currently lasts seven days with no silent token refresh, so you reconnect through the browser flow when it expires. To revoke an already-issued token immediately rather than waiting it out, Riverside says to contact support and ask for the MCP grant to be revoked.

Yes, in full. search_recording_transcripts_exact and search_riverside match spoken transcript content across your archive, and editing_read_aligned_transcript returns word-level detail with speaker rows. Everything a guest said in a recording you own becomes readable text, which is a privacy surface and an injection surface at once.

Two feature-flagged tools and three separator characters. Riverside's expected-tools.txt lists 61 names; Anthropic lists 59. Riverside states editing_create_edit_from_segments and editing_reorder_timeline are hidden from tools/list in production. The three media_ tools differ only in hyphens versus underscores, and only one spelling is callable.
