Frequently asked questions
Can an AI assistant send email on my behalf through Superhuman Mail MCP?
Yes. Superhuman documents that the send_draft tool lets AI send email directly rather than only drafting it, and warns that it can send instantly with no delay. The server itself imposes no confirmation step. Superhuman strongly advises turning on per-call confirmation in your AI client before you use the tool at all.
Does send_draft require human confirmation before mail leaves?
Not from the server. Confirmation is a setting in your AI client, not a property of the connector. Superhuman states that assistants ask you to confirm every action by default, and calls that a safety net rather than a permanent setting. Its own guidance is to keep send_draft on Needs approval so nothing goes out unreviewed.
How long is the undo window if the assistant sends the wrong email?
Ten seconds. Superhuman's Undo documentation states you unsend a message by hitting Z within 10 seconds on desktop, and the undo_send tool cancels a recently sent email inside that same window. Superhuman confirms there is no way to extend it. Beyond ten seconds the message is delivered and cannot be recalled.
Which Superhuman plan do you need for the MCP server?
Business or higher. Superhuman documents that the MCP Server is not available on the Starter plan and requires an account with Ask AI enabled, plus the Superhuman Chrome extension for authentication. Business is listed at 40 dollars per month or 396 dollars per year, and Enterprise pricing is quoted on request.
Can an IT admin block the Superhuman Mail MCP server for a whole team?
Only on Enterprise. Superhuman states MCP access is disabled by default for Enterprise accounts, and Enterprise admins enable or disable Superhuman AI or the MCP Server through their Customer Success Manager. Superhuman says it is not possible to disable the MCP Server across a non-Enterprise organization, though individuals can decline to enable it.
Is my email content sent to Claude or ChatGPT when I use this connector?
Yes. Superhuman states plainly that the MCP Server returns structured data including email content, search results and calendar information, which is then sent to the AI provider to reason over. Superhuman describes this as inherent to the MCP architecture rather than a choice its implementation makes.
Do Superhuman's no-training and zero-retention commitments cover MCP?
No. Superhuman documents that its Zero Day Data Retention agreements and no-subprocessor-training policy govern its own built-in AI features, where Superhuman controls the provider relationship. Data returned through MCP to an external tool is governed by that provider's own policies instead, because you hold the direct relationship with them.
Can I audit which actions an AI assistant took through the MCP server?
No. Superhuman states that no MCP-specific logging exists today, and that there are no unique identifiers indicating whether an action was taken via MCP or by a human user. An email sent by an assistant is therefore indistinguishable in your mailbox from one you sent yourself.
Is the Superhuman Mail MCP server still in beta?
No longer, on the evidence of the documentation itself. Anthropic's directory links a help article whose title ends in Beta, but that URL now redirects to a canonical article carrying no beta label anywhere in its text, and the beta-suffixed URL is absent from Superhuman's sitemap. The directory link is stale rather than wrong.
