Can the Supermetrics MCP server change my live ad campaigns?

Accepted Answer

Yes. campaign_create and campaign_update reach real advertising accounts on Google Ads, Meta, Microsoft Advertising, TikTok and LinkedIn, not a Supermetrics-internal copy. Supermetrics documents two guardrails: new campaigns are always created paused, and write access must first be granted per ad account in the Write settings page on the Supermetrics Hub.

Can an agent delete or pause a campaign that is already running?

Yes. The published schema for campaign_update accepts a status value of ENABLED, PAUSED or REMOVED against an existing campaign ID, so pausing and removing are both in scope. It also changes budgets, bidding strategies, schedules and targeting. The paused-on-creation guardrail protects new campaigns only and does nothing for campaigns already live.

How do I stop the connector from writing to my ad accounts?

Accepted Answer

Grant no write access. Supermetrics gates all campaign writing behind a Write settings page on its Hub where you select the specific ad accounts to enable, and you can only enable accounts belonging to data source connections you own. Supermetrics also documents contacting its support to disable campaign management for a whole team.

Does using the Supermetrics MCP server consume my plan allowance?

Yes, through AI credits. Supermetrics' pricing page lists 4,000 monthly AI credits on Starter and 12,000 on Growth, with a custom allocation on Enterprise, retrieved 2026-08-18. Underlying data sources impose their own separate daily API request quotas, and Supermetrics warns that one query can generate many upstream requests.

Can an agent see how much quota is left before it queries?

No. None of the 14 tools reports a remaining credit balance or quota headroom. Supermetrics directs you to monitor subscription usage and query volume on the Supermetrics Hub, which is a browser page rather than a tool call. An agent can therefore spend the allowance without being able to read the meter.

Do I need an existing Supermetrics account to use the connector?

Accepted Answer

No. Supermetrics states that a Supermetrics account with a 14-day free trial is created automatically on first login, with no credit card required. After the trial you need a paid subscription that includes Supermetrics API access. The knowledge base notes the MCP server does not require the separate AI chats destination.

Can the connector invite people to my Supermetrics team?

Yes. manage_user_and_team is a dispatcher whose action parameter selects the operation, and its published actions include invite_member, which takes an email address and a role. It can also assign users to a subscription with add_user_to_subscription. So a tool named for account information also changes who has access to your marketing data.

Does contact_supermetrics send a message to Supermetrics staff?

Yes. It submits product feedback, opens a support ticket or files a sales enquiry, so the call leaves your account and reaches the vendor. Supermetrics' own tool description instructs that support tickets be created only when the user explicitly authorises it. Recent changelog entries added reading and replying to tickets you opened.

What OAuth permissions does the Supermetrics MCP server request?

Eleven scopes on its RFC 9728 descriptor, and they do separate reading from writing. Most are read-shaped, including ds_accounts_read and ds_queries_run. Only ds_platform_write and ds_login_links_write are write-shaped. The single scope covering all ad platform writing is ds_platform_write, so declining it declines campaign creation and updating together.

Which connected accounts does one Supermetrics grant reach?

All of them by default for reading. Supermetrics' documentation describes one connection giving an AI application access to every marketing data source in your account, across 170-plus platforms. Writing is narrower: campaign tools reach only the specific ad accounts you enabled in Write settings, and only connections you personally own.
