What it doesn’t do
Its reach is whatever you connect. It cannot search a system it has no connection to, and it inherits your existing permissions rather than working around them — which is the correct behaviour, not a limitation to solve.
Where it runs
Anthropic built Enterprise Search as a Cowork plugin, which runs inside Claude Desktop. We rebuilt it as MCP-compatible skills, so the same bundle works in Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, Claude Code, and Agentman over one connection.
