Limits

  • No safety annotations were read. The endpoint requires OAuth, so we obtained no inputSchema and none of MCP's four safety hints for any tool. Every read-or-write judgement on this page comes from AdWhispr's own descriptions, not from the machine-readable flags a readable server publishes. Treat the classification as sourced, not as annotated.
  • The tool count is unresolved. 33, 38, 27 and 8 all appear across live sources, and the seven tools the directory omits are the credit-consuming creative family. A directory install may expose tools this page's count does not cover.
  • Anthropic publishes no permissions label for this connector. Not "Read", not "Read and write" — the field is absent from the listing entirely. Nobody asserted a posture we could falsify, so the read/write picture here rests on the vendor's docs and the advertised scopes.
  • The consent screen has nothing to narrow. Two scopes, read and write, and the write scope covers everything from saving a brand name to launching a campaign.
  • Meta's launch status is self-contradictory. AdWhispr's 2026-08-11 post states that launching Meta campaigns "is currently in beta", while its 2026-06-24 platform table and its 2026-08-03 Google guide both call Meta generally available. Both pages were live on 2026-08-21.
  • The terms of service describe a research-only product. AdWhispr's terms, last updated June 2026, describe the service as analysing public Meta Ad Library data and letting you research competitors and generate creative. They do not mention campaign launch, budget changes or connected ad accounts at all, though the privacy policy (July 2026) does.
  • The privacy policy documents only Meta connections. It describes connecting a Meta ad account through Facebook Login for Business and names Meta's ads_read and ads_management permissions. Google and TikTok connections, which the guides describe as generally available, are not covered by an equivalent passage.
  • The free plan is a quota, not a rate limit. Fifteen agent calls a month, and AdWhispr states a single research prompt typically burns two or three — so roughly five prompts before it stops. Pro at $39 a month raises it to 150; Agency at $149 raises it to 3,000. Video credits are metered separately and are paid-plan only.
  • Estimates are labelled as estimates. AdWhispr's terms state that spend ranges, performance signals and AI-generated insights are derived from public data and are not guarantees of advertising performance, and that the service is provided as-is.
  • Nothing here was executed. We ran an anonymous handshake and fetched public metadata documents. No tool was called, no account was connected, and no campaign was created.

Frequently asked questions

Can the AdWhispr MCP server spend money from my ad account?

Yes, once you connect an ad account. Eight of the 33 listed tools reach live spend: six `launch_` tools, plus `update_budget` and `resume_campaign`, all behind `connect_ad_account`. AdWhispr's privacy policy states new campaigns are always created paused so nothing spends until you choose to run it, and that it acts only on your explicit confirmed instructions.

How many tools does the AdWhispr MCP server actually have?

Four live AdWhispr sources give four different counts. Anthropic's directory snapshot lists 33. AdWhispr's own npm package documents 38 by name and its package description repeats 38. The site's llms.txt and its ChatGPT setup guide both say 27, and two older setup guides still say 8. We could not settle it, because the endpoint requires OAuth.

Which tools does Anthropic's directory listing leave out?

Seven, and all seven generate creative. AdWhispr's npm README documents `clone_ad`, `clone_video_ad`, `clone_from_script`, `clone_from_concept`, `revise_video_brief`, `approve_video_clone` and `check_video_status`, none of which appear in the directory's 33 names. Video renders consume paid video credits, so the omitted set is the metered one.

Does AdWhispr read my own ad account, or only competitors' public ads?

Both, but through separate consent steps. Competitor research reads only the public Meta Ad Library and TikTok ad data, and needs no ad account. Reading your own performance or launching campaigns requires running `connect_ad_account`, which starts a second OAuth flow with Google, TikTok or Meta and grants AdWhispr scoped access to that platform.

What OAuth scopes does connecting AdWhispr to Claude grant?

Two: `read` and `write`. AdWhispr's authorization server metadata advertises exactly that pair, verified live on 2026-08-21. Its RFC 9728 resource descriptor publishes no scopes at all, so the split is declared only at the authorization server. There is no scope that separates competitor research from campaign launch.

Which ad platforms can AdWhispr launch campaigns on?

Google Search, Google Performance Max and TikTok are generally available on every AdWhispr page we read. Meta is where the vendor contradicts itself: its August 11 post calls Meta launch beta, while its June and August connection guides call Meta generally available. Both pages were live on 2026-08-21.

Does the AdWhispr endpoint in Anthropic's directory match the vendor's own?

No. Anthropic publishes `https://adwhispr.com/api/claude/mcp`. Four AdWhispr sources — its npm README, its Claude setup guide, its Claude plugin manifest and its MCP registry server.json — all name `https://adwhispr.com/api/mcp` instead. Both answered our probe with an identical OAuth challenge on 2026-08-21, so both routes are live.

What does the AdWhispr free plan actually allow?

Fifteen agent calls a month, unlimited tracked brands and one free ad clone, with no credit card. AdWhispr states a single research prompt typically burns two or three calls, so fifteen buys roughly five prompts. Pro is $39 a month for 150 calls; Agency is $149 for 3,000. Video credits are paid-plan only.
