Do I need a GLG account to use this connector?
Yes. GLG states that the MCP connector requires an active GLG account, and directs anyone without one to their GLG account manager. There is no self-serve signup path and no trial tier documented for the connector. GLG sells to institutions, so the account you sign in with is the myGLG account your firm already holds.
Why does my assistant tell me to contact my GLG account manager?
Because connector access is enabled per account by GLG at the account owner's request. GLG's troubleshooting section explains that sign-in and connection succeed before enablement, and the instruction only appears on your first data query. Once GLG turns it on, queries work immediately and you do not need to reconnect.
How do I connect and authenticate with GLG?
Through per-user OAuth 2.0. GLG states each person signs in individually with their own myGLG credentials, and access is scoped to what that user is already entitled to. There is no shared organization login and no API key. GLG supports Dynamic Client Registration, so compliant clients register themselves without static client IDs or secrets.
Is my data stored by the connector?
Partly. GLG states the data returned to answer a question is fetched live and discarded, but that it logs the tool requests your assistant makes, including parameters like search terms and call IDs, for product analytics. GLG states those logs do not capture your prompts or your assistant's responses, and are not used to train any model.
Does GLG see my conversations with my AI assistant?
No. GLG's documentation states the connector cannot access your conversation history, the prompts you type, or the responses your assistant generates. It also cannot reach another GLG account's data or your billing information. GLG separately states that your GLG data is never used to train or improve any AI model.
Which AI assistants support GLG MCP?
Claude and ChatGPT carry GLG in their connector directories for one-click setup. GLG states the server works with any client supporting standard MCP over streamable HTTP with OAuth, added manually through that client's integration settings, including firms' internal AI tools. GLG names Microsoft Copilot and Google Gemini as platforms where support is still being improved.
How do I disconnect GLG or switch accounts?
Remove the GLG connector in your AI client's settings. GLG states access is revoked immediately and your assistant can no longer reach your account. To switch accounts, GLG instructs you to disconnect the current connection first, then reconnect and sign in with the other account. There is no in-place account switcher.
