Moody's Credit MCP
Query Moody's credit ratings, scorecards, research and entity data from an AI agent. Anthropic lists 15 tools; Moody's own page documents 5. Read-only, OAuth sign-in, entitlement-gated.
Verified connector
Listed by Anthropic as a partner connector in its Connectors Directory.
Connection checked by Agentman on .
Anthropic states this reflects the level of review a connector received, not a security audit.

Moody's Credit MCP Tools & Capabilities (15)
Tool names from Anthropic's directory listing. This server requires sign-in, so we could not read tool descriptions or parameter schemas.
Limits
- Reuse of retrieved content is restricted. Moody's Terms of Use forbid repackaging, redistributing or reselling Materials without written consent, and forbid using them to develop, improve or train any software program or database including AI models. Whether those exact words bind the MCP feed depends on your negotiated Moody's agreement, which we could not read. Settle this before designing any system that stores what the connector returns.
- Access is entitlement-gated end to end. Anthropic's tutorial states the connector respects your Moody's subscription entitlements, so two users of the same server see different data and possibly different tools. Nothing on this page tells you what *your* account can reach.
- We could not read tool schemas or safety annotations. The endpoint returned 401 to an anonymous request, so no parameter-level detail, no
readOnlyHintand nodestructiveHintare published here. The read/write classification is ours, from names and Moody's descriptions. - Moody's documents 5 of the 15 listed tools. The other ten have no vendor description anywhere we could find, so what they return, how they are parameterised and how current their data is are all unestablished.
- The two published endpoints disagree. Anthropic's directory and Moody's own page give different URLs, both live. We could not determine which is canonical for a given subscription.
- One tool name is contested between two Anthropic sources. The directory says
getEntityCreditUpgradeDowngradeFactors; Anthropic's own Moody's tutorial and Moody's page both saygetEntityRatingDrivers. Without a handshake we could not determine which the server answers to. - No prompts or resources could be enumerated. Anthropic's directory records no prompt names, and the gated endpoint meant we never read an
initializecapabilities block. We cannot say whether the server declarespromptsorresourcesat all. - Client support is narrower than the transport implies. The directory records this connector as working with Claude and the Claude API only, not Claude Code or Claude Desktop, even though the transport is standard streamable HTTP.
- Moody's has no developer documentation host.
docs.moodys.com,developer.moodys.comanddevelopers.moodys.comdo not resolve. The single MCP page below is the only MCP documentation in Moody's entire sitemap, and there is nollms.txt—moodys.com/llms.txtreturns HTTP 200 but redirects to an error page, a soft 404.
Frequently asked questions
Anthropic's directory lists 15 named tools, and Moody's own page documents 5. The two lists overlap on only four names, so neither is a complete picture. The endpoint requires OAuth, so we could not run a handshake to settle it. Treat 15 as the better-sourced figure and expect your entitlements to narrow it.
No. Every one of the 15 listed tool names begins with find, get or search, and Anthropic's directory records the connector's permissions as Read. No name carries a create, update, delete or send verb. This is a retrieval surface over Moody's data, not a system that writes back to it.
Yes. Anthropic's tutorial states that Claude can only access data and research your Moody's account has permission to view, and that the connector respects your subscription entitlements. Moody's own getting-started steps begin with requesting credentials and an endpoint URL from Moody's, so there is no self-service signup path.
Not without written consent, by the terms governing Moody's site. Those terms forbid repackaging, redistributing or reselling Materials, and separately forbid using them to develop, improve or train any software program or database, including AI and machine learning models. Your negotiated licence governs the MCP feed itself, so check it before building a system of record.
Six, and none of them separates one action from another. Moody's resource descriptor advertises mcp, claudeai, openid, profile, email and mdcapp. Three are OpenID identity claims and three name the application rather than a permission. Since all 15 tools read, there is no irreversible action for a scope boundary to sit in front of.
It depends on which listing you follow, and the two disagree. Anthropic's directory publishes a Credit endpoint on mcp.moodys.com, while Moody's own page and Anthropic's tutorial both give an m1 endpoint on api.moodys.com. Both returned an OAuth challenge when we probed them. Ask Moody's client services which one your entitlement covers.
The directory records this connector as working with Claude and the Claude API only. Its authorization server does advertise a registration endpoint, which is the dynamic client registration that Claude Code requires, and the transport is standard streamable HTTP. So other clients are technically plausible but are outside what Moody's and Anthropic document.
They are separate servers with different tool sets on the same host. Credit MCP covers ratings, scorecards, credit opinions and default risk for credit analysis. Growth & Strategy MCP covers firmographics, ownership hierarchies and contact intelligence for sales and marketing. Only Credit MCP holds Anthropic's partner tier; Growth & Strategy is listed at community tier.
