Finance39 tools

Pull institutional equity research — earnings recaps, guidance, proxy reviews, red flags, screeners and watchlists — into your AI assistant. 39 tools, OAuth sign-in via WorkOS AuthKit, and six tools the vendor labels write.

Verified connector

Listed by Anthropic as a partner connector in its Connectors Directory.

Connection checked by Agentman on .

Anthropic states this reflects the level of review a connector received, not a security audit.

Pinegap Tools & Capabilities (39)

Tool names from Anthropic's directory listing. This server requires sign-in, so we could not read tool descriptions or parameter schemas.

Limits

  • Two rate ceilings, and the tighter one governs the interesting tools. Pinegap publishes 60 requests per minute as the default and 10 requests per minute for AI synthesis tools. Eleven of the 39 listed tools sit in the Synthesis category, so an agent fanning out across a peer group will hit the 10/min ceiling long before the 60/min one.
  • Synthesis tools send filing content to third-party LLM providers. Pinegap's MCP privacy policy names OpenAI, Microsoft Azure OpenAI Service, Google Gemini as a fallback, and Perplexity for web search. It states tool inputs and outputs are not used to train AI models, not sold, and not used for advertising profiles.
  • Six listed tools write. earnings-preview, earnings-recap, screener-start, screener-status, watchlist-create and watchlist-update all carry Pinegap's write label. watchlist-update replaces a watchlist's entire ticker list rather than appending.
  • A delete tool exists that Anthropic's listing does not show. Pinegap documents watchlist-delete; the directory snapshot does not carry it. Audit against Pinegap's own reference, not the directory listing, before granting an agent access.
  • No scope can narrow the grant. The resource descriptor publishes no scopes_supported key at all and the authorization server offers only identity scopes, so read-only access cannot be requested at the consent screen.
  • Access is gated to professional financial organisations. Pinegap's terms limit the service to institutional investors, registered investment advisers, single-family offices and other professional financial organisations, and require you to warrant you are authorised to act for one. There is no self-serve free tier.
  • Retrieved research is licensed for internal use only. Pinegap's terms grant a non-transferable licence for internal business purposes and prohibit sharing, publishing, redistributing or commercially exploiting Pinegap outputs outside your organisation, including derivative works made for resale. Output your AI assistant generates from Pinegap content inherits that restriction.
  • Pinegap states it does not provide investment advice. Its terms say Pinegap is not a registered investment adviser, broker-dealer or fiduciary, and that the service does not constitute investment advice, legal counsel, regulatory guidance, or any recommendation to buy, sell or hold a security. proxy-voting is explicit in the same direction: Pinegap documents it as descriptive and states it returns no recommended vote. Listing this connector is not an endorsement of any financial action.
  • Coverage is documented once, on a marketing page. Pinegap's demo page states 25,000+ global companies and lists financials, estimates, earnings, filings, conferences, podcasts, X, Reddit and fund letters as sources. Pinegap's MCP documentation itself publishes no coverage table, so which markets and which document types are available for a given ticker is not something we can state from a technical source. latest-period is the tool that answers it per ticker.
  • Tool parameters and safety annotations were not read from the server. The endpoint returned HTTP 401 on 2026-08-18, so tool names come from Anthropic's directory and behaviour from Pinegap's published reference. No tool was called.
  • Cached responses persist for up to 45 days. Pinegap's MCP privacy policy states some tool responses are cached in Redis with per-tool TTLs ranging from 5 minutes to 45 days, and that usage logs are retained for 90 days.
  • Four directory names are undocumented. comp-sheet, company-metrics, quant-metrics and upcoming-events appear in Anthropic's 2026-08-16 snapshot but not in Pinegap's current reference, so we cannot say what they return.

Frequently asked questions

Can't sign in after the Pinegap OAuth redirect — what is wrong?

Your Pinegap account is probably not active. Pinegap's MCP troubleshooting table gives one fix for this symptom: ensure your account is active on app.pinegap.ai. Access is sold to institutional investors, registered investment advisers and family offices, so an account that has lapsed or was never provisioned will complete the sign-in screen and still fail.

Why does a valid ticker return STOCK_NOT_FOUND from Pinegap MCP?

The ticker is not in Pinegap's own database under the form you sent. Pinegap's troubleshooting table tells you to call stock-lookup first to verify the exact ticker. That tool accepts an exchange ticker, a Bloomberg ticker, a Nasdaq ticker or a fuzzy company name, and it reports which form actually resolved.

What causes a RATE_LIMITED error on the Pinegap MCP server?

You exceeded one of two published ceilings. Pinegap documents 60 requests per minute as the default and 10 requests per minute for its AI synthesis tools, and its troubleshooting table says to wait and retry. The synthesis limit is six times tighter because those tools call an external LLM provider on every request.

Does the Pinegap MCP connector send your data to third-party AI providers?

Yes, for the synthesis tools only. Pinegap's MCP privacy policy names OpenAI, Microsoft Azure OpenAI, Google Gemini as a fallback and Perplexity for web search, and says the relevant filing, transcript or proxy content is sent to them. It also states tool inputs and outputs are not used to train AI models.

Do you need a paid Pinegap plan to use the MCP server?

Yes. Pinegap's MCP documentation states an active Pinegap account is required and points you at sign-up or enterprise contact. Its terms limit access to institutional investors, registered investment advisers, single-family offices and other professional financial organisations, and the site routes pricing enquiries to a demo form offering a two-week trial.

Can the Pinegap MCP server place trades or give investment advice?

No. Pinegap's terms state it is not a registered investment adviser, broker-dealer or fiduciary, and that the service does not constitute investment advice or any recommendation to buy, sell or hold a security. No tool in either list places an order, and proxy-voting explicitly returns no recommended vote.

Can you share Pinegap research retrieved through the MCP connector?

Not outside your organisation. Pinegap's terms grant a licence to use the service strictly for internal business purposes and prohibit sharing, publishing, redistributing or commercially exploiting Pinegap outputs outside the customer's organisation. That restriction follows the content into whatever your AI assistant produces from it.
