Frequently asked questions
Is the Salesloft MCP connector really read only?
Yes, and Salesloft states it plainly. Its overview article says the server does not support any updates, writes or deletes, and that only reads are allowed. Every tool the server publishes is annotated read-only, and all six OAuth resource scopes end in read. This is the first Read Only directory label in this catalogue the vendor's own documentation confirms rather than contradicts.
Which Salesloft plan do I need for the MCP server?
One of Salesloft's Agent packages. Salesloft states the MCP server is available to Agentic customers only, and that teams which bought an Agent package such as the Account Agent or Coaching Agent get the server included. There is no separate MCP purchase. Customers on other Salesloft packages cannot enable the toggle at all.
Can an admin turn the Salesloft MCP server off for the whole team?
Yes, and it is off until an admin turns it on. Salesloft documents a toggle under Settings, then Artificial Intelligence Settings in the Data section, labelled Enable MCP Server. Salesloft states that turning that toggle off at organisation level disconnects all users at once. Individual access can also be revoked through the user's API key.
Does the Salesloft MCP server give an AI assistant my call recordings?
It gives an assistant a signed link to the recording, not the audio itself. Salesloft's recording tool returns a media reference with a signed URL, duration and content type. Fetching that link is a separate step the assistant would have to take. Conversation detail returns AI summaries, key moments and action items rather than verbatim speech.
Does Salesloft use my data to train the AI assistant's model?
No, Salesloft says its data is not used for training. Its FAQ describes the server as a read-only window that pulls data into the current chat session only. Salesloft adds an important caveat: whether the AI provider can use that data depends on the contract you hold with that provider, not on Salesloft.
What happens if I ask about a deal I do not own in Salesloft?
You get nothing back, because the connector inherits your existing permissions. Salesloft states the server follows its existing permission model, and that a record you cannot see in Salesloft returns a 403 Forbidden or an empty result to the assistant. The connector does not widen your reach, it makes your existing reach conversational.
Do Salesloft MCP queries count against our API rate limits?
Yes. Salesloft states that MCP calls route through the Salesloft API and count against your standard API limits. Its developer documentation sets that limit at 600 cost units per minute, applied per team rather than per integration. One chatty assistant can therefore consume rate limit that other Salesloft integrations on the same team need.
